Fuel Strategy

The Fuel Strategy page lets you perform real-time theoretical fuel calculations, updated live with every new lap received. Fuel stints are session-specific, meaning the page only displays fuel stints for the currently selected session.

Race Settings

The Race Settings button allows you to define your default values for the race weekend.
These values are specific to a given weekend and are pre-filled when starting a new fuel stint.

  • Initial Fuel (L): Fuel tank capacity or fuel loaded at the start of the stint.
  • L/Lap (Green): Theoretical fuel consumption per lap under green flag conditions.
  • L/Lap (SC): Theoretical fuel consumption per lap under Safety Car.
  • L/Lap (FCY): Theoretical fuel consumption per lap under Full Course Yellow.

Starting a New Fuel Stint

To start a new stint, click the Start Fuel Stint button (only available when no stint is currently active).
In the popup, enter the start lap and adjust the fuel and consumption values if needed (default values come from the Race Settings).

Finishing a Fuel Stint

To end a fuel stint, click Finish Stint and enter the end lap (defaults to the current lap).
You can optionally input the actual fuel used over the stint — the system will then compute the actual consumption in L/lap.

Finished stints appear in the right panel. You can edit a finished stint by clicking on it — for example, if you receive the fuel data later and want to add it.

SC and FCY Laps

You can manually enter the number of laps completed under Safety Car (SC) or Full Course Yellow (FCY) to improve the accuracy of the Expected fuel indicators.

The X laps with FCY / SC time below the stint counter is just an informational hint. It lists all laps from this fuel stint with at least 1 second under FCY or SC. To view the exact duration per lap, hover the yellow dot in the final laps section of the Dashboard or in the Lap Analysis page.

Indicators & Formulas

Each fuel-related indicator is shown in two modes:

  • Conservative: Assumes all laps are under green flag. Safe, worst-case scenario.
  • Expected: Adjusted based on the number of SC and FCY laps you’ve manually entered.

Fuel Autonomy

Total number of laps the car can complete on fuel.

Conservative

AutonomyConservative = InitialFuel / ConsumptionGreen

Expected

ratioSC = max(0, 1 - (ConsumptionSC / ConsumptionGreen)) ratioFCY = max(0, 1 - (ConsumptionFCY / ConsumptionGreen)) AutonomyExpected = AutonomyConservative + ratioSC × NbrLapsUnderSC + ratioFCY × NbrLapsUnderFCY

Laps Left

Remaining laps of fuel from the current lap onward.

Conservative

LapsLeft = max(AutonomyConservative - NbrLapsDone, 0)

Expected

LapsLeft = max(AutonomyExpected - NbrLapsDone, 0)

Pit on Lap

Latest lap number where you should pit to avoid running out of fuel.

⚠️ This refers to the current lap number, not the last completed one.
For example, if the current lap is 22 and Pit on Lap = 22, you must pit during that lap.

Conservative

PitOnLap = LapStart + max(floor(AutonomyConservative) - 1, 0)

Expected

PitOnLap = LapStart + max(floor(AutonomyExpected) - 1, 0)
